Reason for joining the directory

I would love to be added to the Consortium’s provider list because creating a space where people feel safe, accepted, and comfortable being themselves is incredibly important to me. I know how much courage it can take to reach out for therapy, and I never want someone to feel like they have to hide or minimize any part of who they are in order to receive support. Being part of the Consortium would give me the opportunity to connect with more LGBTQIA+ individuals in my community and be a safe, supportive resource for those looking for care. I truly value meeting people where they are, listening to their experiences, and making sure they feel heard, respected, and welcomed from the very beginning.

In their own words

To me, good allyship starts with listening, learning, and making sure people feel safe being exactly who they are. It means creating a space where LGBTQIA+ clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and supported without having to explain or defend their identity. I also believe allyship requires ongoing learning and being willing to recognize when I don’t know something. As a therapist, I want my clients to know that I will meet them with compassion, curiosity, and without judgment. It’s important to me that I continue educating myself, use inclusive and affirming language, respect each person’s lived experience, and advocate for a space where everyone feels like they belong. Most importantly, I think being an ally is more than simply saying that I’m accepting—it’s showing that acceptance through my actions and the way I treat people every day.
