It's so necessary. The mental health system as it is, especially in places like GR, where there is a lot of "faith-based care" is harmful to many folx. Beyond that, there are just many uninformed providers who don't provide affirming care. Having lists where providers are vetted helps reduce harm and makes the process of finding good mental health care easier.

LGBTQ+ training
During my graduate school training I worked with a group called 360 youth services in Illinois, the organization supported individual training for working with LGBTQ+ families and kids through our supervisors. This was more of a general starting point. In my current position, I have worked closely with Ash Tobin to develop my letter-writing process for gender affirming care. This has also been informed by Dr. Sand Chang's "A Clinician's Guide to Gender Affirming Care" I have taken the following courses: Writing Clinical Letters of Referral for Affirming Medical Care (through Simple Practice) Decolonizing Trans Health (Shifting Center Education) Polyamory, Bisexuality and Mono-Poly Relationships (Attunement LLC, Stephanie Sullivan)
