Reason for joining the directory

Being Queer and Trans I know how scary it can be to be looking for support and going into a first appointment feeling unsure if your identity will be respected and validated or not. I know that this can be the difference between someone getting the care they need or not. I have been there and would like to be a resource for my community in order to make sure that I can use my skills to uplift anyone who could use them!

In their own words

My Queerness is something that allows me to pursue my most authentic self and live in a way that shows who I am and how I love. Being Queer to me is both an individual and shared experience. Each person in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community has unique identities and experiences, however there is also an element of finding community, belonging, and affirmation of our identity in our relationships with others. Being Queer in a world that doesn't always understand or value us can be a lonely and scary experience, but by connecting with others in our community we can feel a little less alone. I believe that we are stronger together than we are alone! Utilizing our skills, wisdom and lived experiences we can uplift one another and hopefully this world will become a safer place for future generations of Queer and Trans people to live their happiest, healthiest and most authentic lives.
