Reason for joining the directory

Especially in our current political climate it is important for providers who are affirming and supportive be identified and connected with the LGBTQ+ community. My number one goal when working with clients in counseling is that they feel heard, supported, and accepted. While LGBTQ+ issues may not be what leads someone to seek counseling, it is important that the counselor is accepting and willing to meet people where they are at, and support them on their journey... and not on changing them to be more palatable for the world.
